IN THE SPOTLIGHT

My work lives at the intersection of realism and illustration, where every piece becomes a small, whimsical story. While charcoal and ink are my home base, which are the mediums where I feel most grounded. I also explore color pencil, watercolor, and mixed media. Color is still a growing edge for me, a space of curiosity and experimentation, and I love allowing each piece to guide me toward new techniques and unexpected combinations. I embrace creating a variation of styles, as I continue to learn when using different mediums.

Animals are at the heart of my creative world. I use them as symbolic stand‑ins for the people who shape my life, translating their personalities, quirks, and emotional textures into playful, expressive characters. Many of these creatures carry the nicknames of the friends or family members who inspired them; others borrow from their real names in subtle, story driven ways. This approach first emerged in my steampunk series and has since become a signature thread in my storytelling, and a whimsical way to honor the relationships that matter most to me.
